JUNE "prayer-starters" DAY 2

We cannot keep the commandments of Christ unless we Love one another. When Jesus said, “Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends,” He set the prime example for us. But the fact is that He not only gave us this as a command, He actually provides us with the Love by which we can Love the way He commanded us to Love.

John 15:12-14—This is my commandment, That ye Love one another, as I have Loved you. Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. NIrV—Here is My command. Love each other, just as I have Loved you. No one has greater Love than the one who gives his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command.

Romans 12:10—Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly Love; in honor preferring one another; NIrV—Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves.

I Timothy 1:5—Now the end of the commandment is charity (agape) out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned (that is not that of a hypocrite). NIrV—Love is the purpose of my command. Love comes from a pure heart. It comes from a good sense of what is right and wrong. It comes from faith that is honest and true.

LORD, my ability to Love seems to come and go according to the way others have Loved me. I simply ask that You heal my inability to Love others unconditionally. I name some people here whom I have not Loved as I should have Loved them. Please help me mend this.

Keeping Christ’s commandment to love keeps us in His love, with fullness Of joy.
